The Show of Unity

Last night when I went to involve the preparation for the Kayli cup 2008, I was totally impressed by the scene of youths involving exceptionally well in all the activities.

As one of the youths' activist I was overjoyed to see how they involved, how they shared their thoughts and even how they accpted our comments.

In the recent years, all the activiteis organised by different bodies of the island were overshadowed by the political turmoil in the country. Despite the momentum in the presidential campaign and party activities, the scene I saw would have gained everyone's appraisal.

Kayli Cup Application Deadline Over

When the deadline for kayli cup application occurred last evening, only four teams submitted applications compare to the previous year's five applications.

Teams appearing in this years competition are defending champions Nine kick, last two times runners-up Employees United (this time with the brand name "Mungnameri"), Ulhiashi and Avashu Football Club (AFC).

This year, its expected to see a fierce rivalry between Nine kick and Ulhiashi as Nine kick is hoping to secure the Trophy for a successive third time and Ulhiashi is rumored to be in the competition to steal away the trophy and to ambush the Nine kick's dream.

RAINY WEEK-END IN KANDITHEEM

It all started in the afternoon of Wednesday. Thursday was no exception as fishermen hurried back home without a good catch. As the Ramazan fast approaching, I wondered how difficult it would be if the weather was to continue like that in the following days.

Friday was no different as the rain started here and there. It continued into Saturday and all the socio-economic activities were at a halt. Puddles every where. Roads full of puddles and a lot of umbrellas.
